How Coaching Works

The coaching process begins with you expressing an interest in coaching and the desire to create results in your life. Your initial call to The Anderson Advantage Group will be graciously received; you will have the opportunity to discuss any questions you might have; reach a verbal understanding and agreement regarding coaching and how it would work for you; determine a start date; and you would be invited to experience a sample coaching session. Do not be surprised at the number of favorable opportunities or experiences that start to occur in your life once you make the commitment to coaching.

The Intake Process

You will be scheduled to participate in a two hour “intake” session. This session is designed to develop a mutual understanding between the coach and the client; to discover what areas of your personal or professional life that you wish to work toward; and to explore your values, needs, and desires. Once these steps are complete, realistic achievable goals are developed between you and your coach and a “forwarding the action” plans are developed to move you with focused speed toward the desired results.

The Coaching Session

With the information obtained from the “intake” session, clients then participate in regularly scheduled coaching sessions that may be conducted either in person or on the phone (see coaching options and fees for more information). Most sessions last for approximately 45 minutes and occur three times per month. Variations on this schedule are available; customized and group programs can be arranged and provided.

Coaching sessions, by phone or in-person, are led by the coach but designed by the client. In this manner an overall structure is provided and yet each session is guaranteed to be individualized and personalized. The coach’s role is to listen, ask provocative questions, and to deepen the client’s personal exploration of key areas in their life or career. All coaching sessions are directed solely toward YOU, the client, and are held in the strictest confidence.

With many of the coaching options offered by The Anderson Advantage Group, clients are able to receive brief (15-20 minutes) additional telephone support and/or unlimited e-mail access with their coach. This is particularly helpful for the client, when day-to-day events occur that may lead to breakdowns, getting stuck, or distances the client from living their magnificent life. Frequently a short “talk or reconnect” with the coach can help to re-align the client with their environment.
